Michael Blanke began his career in Bonn and, since completing his doctorate in 1985, worked as an academic advisor in fruit research. For decades, he shaped education in Rhineland fruit growing, introducing students early to scientific work. With over 300 publications and 5,800 citations, he ranks among the faculty’s most productive researchers.
As a recipient of the Taspo Innovation Award and a sought-after speaker, he delivered lectures worldwide and completed sabbaticals in the UK, South Africa, and California. After more than 40 years at the University of Bonn, he is now retiring – a well-deserved conclusion to an outstanding career.
