Atifullah Shinwari
PhD Candidate
I am a PhD student and awardee of DAAD-Hilde Domin Program working on my PhD research at the INRES Horticulture Science Department. My research focus is on the phenology modeling and dormancy of fruit tree mainly investigating the response of Afghanistan almond orchards to temperature variations during the chilling phase.
For this purpose, I will learn and use the data processing and modeling tools for analyses of chill risk and making future projections using the temperature data and climate scenarios. This will support decision analysis and sustainability of almond orchards and its chill risk adaptation needs in Afghanistan.
