I had the honour of being selected and invited to deliver a Science Slam at the 2025 Global Forum for Food and Agriculture (GFFA).

The GFFA is the world’s largest informal conference of agriculture ministers that brings together stakeholders from various sectors, including policymakers, researchers, practitioners, and the public, to discuss and address pressing issues in global food and agriculture.

The Science Slam is a special highlight of the GFFA and a special platform that challenges researchers to transform complex research into a clear and compelling talk. Science is often locked behind technical jargons, limiting its understanding and impact. Platforms like the GFFA Science Slam break these barriers, giving researchers a stage to connect with a larger audience.

I then had the honour to present our research that operationalizes probabilistic models to assess the impacts of Integrated Soil Fertility Management (ISFM) for different farmers in Northern Ghana. Standing on the GFFA stage, I did not just present data; I delivered a story that needed to be heard— a story of farmers, of land, of inequality, and the urgent need for agricultural solutions that work for everyone. With this work, it was truly a proud moment to receive votes of the best Science Slam Award of the GFFA 2025.

Winning this award is a testament that research matters most when it is communicated effectively; and once it is understood it can drive meaningful change and help shape the future of global agriculture.
